Fog blankets Seattle this morning. I am sipping an incredible cup of coffee from beans roasted by a little local coffee shop (Diva Espresso's Highlands Blend) and I am consumed with a need to write. But I don't want to write something only for it to be filed away in a file on my computer labeled "Journal." I want to publish it. I want people to read it. Enter this blog.
My life has changed drastically in the past 5 years -- really such a short span of time in the grand panorama of human existence. According to the fossil record, anatomically modern humans have existed for about 200,000 years. My five-year metamorphosis, although insignificant in such context, has been no less epic -- I transitioned from a believing and practicing Mormon to an Atheist; from a virgin to an experienced bisexual; from a depressed, single, frightened, little girl to a content and confident woman in a healthy, loving, relationship with a marvelous man who is the love of my life.
This blog will discuss the "desired things" that fueled such a metamorphosis -- the experiences, philosophy, aspirations, virtues, and principles. Mainly, this is a blog about leaving Mormonism and finding reason, love, and myself in the process.
